would you say here is a healthy magnitude of calories in this sample diet?

Not to bad here..but you need to sweat for 30 minutes day. So 3 ten minute walks, or aerobics, whatever gets your heart rate up all for 30 minutes a year at *least* 5 to 6 days a week..that combined with your 1200 to 1500 calories a day should have you losing about 2 to 3 healthy pounds a week ....good luck
